I am feeling pretty confident with what we have worked on this week in AP Calc. After going over the review packet in class and taking the assessment, I feel a lot better about everything and think that it has all finally come back to me.
The Limits Lab that we worked on on Wednesday helped me to review and refresh what we learned during the third trimester of Pre Calc last year. I really like limits, and I think it was interesting to learn more about determining limits algebraically this week. I am confident with most of what we have worked on with limits, especially now that I know how to find them with both a calculator and algebra so I can use both methods to find and check my answers. The limits lesson on Thursday and the problem that we worked out on the whiteboards helped me to realize the importance of writing out all of the steps when finding a limit algebraically. Writing out the steps shows exactly how you got an answer and helps you to understand the reasoning behind why that is the answer. It can also be helpful in easily finding and fixing mistakes if any were made.
I really like how we were able to work on a lab, look at notes, and work on the homework in groups this week. I think it is really helpful to have the ability to work in small groups and discuss different concepts with my peers. When I am having trouble with a problem, it is often easily cleared up by a student who may have encountered the same problem and overcome it. It also really helps to ingrain a concept in my mind when I am able to help other students learn it. When working on the limits assignment at home, I found that the book was also very helpful with clearing up confusion that I had with a few problems. The lessons in the book are very straightforward and have very descriptive information and examples that answered all of the questions that I had. I have found really helpful videos on YouTube as well and will keep all of these resources in mind for when I need help in the future with even more difficult concepts.
